If you are putting a crew somewhere for three weeks, the hotel is rarely the cheapest or the easiest answer. A whole house with parking, a kitchen and a washing machine usually costs less per head and causes fewer arguments.

Whole homes vs hotel rooms for a crew
Four people in hotel rooms means four rooms, four bills and four breakfasts. The same four people in a three or four bedroom house share one booking, one invoice and one front door key code — and they can cook, wash workwear and eat together after a shift.
The practical wins matter more than the headline rate: a kitchen kills the daily food spend, a washing machine kills the launderette run, and off-street parking means the van is not on a hotel car park at £15 a night.
How the rates work
Nightly rates are for short bookings. Anything from about seven nights moves onto a weekly rate, and from 28 nights onto a monthly rate. The longer the stay, the lower the effective nightly cost — which is why project bookings look very different to a two-night rate on a listing site.
Always ask for the all-in figure: cleaning, linen, utilities and Wi-Fi should be included rather than added at the end.
What to check before you confirm
Parking for the vehicle you actually have — a Transit or a pickup does not fit every driveway. Distance to site at shift-change times, not at 11am. Whether check-in is self-service, because crews rarely arrive between nine and five.
Also check bedroom configuration. Sleeps six can mean three doubles, which is no good for six trades who each want their own room.
Invoicing and company bookings
Most contractor stays are paid by the employer, not the individual. Purchase orders, VAT invoices and per-project references are normal; agree invoice terms up front so nobody is chasing accounts halfway through the job.
If the project extends, ask about staying in the same property. Moving a crew mid-job costs a day of productivity.
